Chapter 8 : Kids are always innocent

How innocent are kids… they will believe whatever we tell them. That’s why elder people says, one of the most important things we can do for young children is to Model the kind of person we would like them to be..
Last day our Car met with a small accident and its bumper got broken and got scratches in the door. It happened when we were on the way to office after dropping Amy at her day care. I and husband felt very sad. It been only one year that we bought our car and we are taking care of it very well. Even though we are travelling daily, this is the first time that such an incident happened.
It was a bad day for both of us @ office. We were thinking about the car for the whole day.
At evening after picking Amy and reaching home I told Amy that our Brezzakuttan got hurt and I just showed her the broken bumper and scratches. She call our Car “Vitara Brezza” as Brezzakuttan. I only taught her to call car like that. Even though it is a machine, we always have an emotional attachment towards our vehicle. She became sad and instantly she prayed “Jesus please take care of my Brezzakuttan”. This behavior from Amy was really unexpected.. But I was soo nice to see her praying for her car.. J
After reaching home, while I was giving her a body wash, my husband went to take some pics of the bumper and scratches, which he want to send to his dad. Amy asked me about  her Dad and I told her that he went to take some photos of Brezzakuttam…Then what she replied is .:Yea..Brezzakuttan is crying Amma.Acha went to take some pics so that He can say cheese and smile..”
How innocent she is..?? I said “Yes”.

I don’t want to hurt her innocence..

Chapter 7 : Amy's First Restriction

It is normal to have some complaint from School about Amy. The teacher will tell the complaint while I go and pick her up. Usually complaints are she beat someone, she bite someone, she pushed someone..etc.
But last day, I got a different complaint.. “She is kissing everyone. J She is kissing teachers, maids, other kids…”
What a different complaint..isn’t it?
I know her well and I know that she will kiss whenever she feels happy.. J.But I didn’t care about it much since she is a kid..
But once I heard it from her teacher, I started thinking about it..
“Is kissing a bad thing..??? Especially kiss from a cute little kid.
No.. not at all.. I always enjoy each and every kiss from kidzzz..
Then why should I restrict her from kissing everyone.
Then I thought about the world we are living in…The eyes around us, around our kids, the way they watch us..
As a mom ,I always worry about Amy. The world in which she is growing up. The world had changed a lot from what we were kids
During our childhood, kids are considered as kids only.. They are pampered as kids only.. Now things got changed. We are not sure how others will take advantage on us. They may exploit a small kid’s innocent kiss also..
So I explained Amy not to kiss everybody.. I told her that she can kiss Acha(father),Amma(mother),Appacha (grand pa), Ammachi (grand ma), Velyacha (uncle),Velyamma(aunty) and Etta(her cousin),Annammachi (maternal grand ma) and Mama(maternal uncle) only..
Next day after her school I checked her whether she kissed someone. First she said no then with hesitance she accepted that she kissed Sachin
She can’t resist kissing Sachin her best buddy in school..
So I told her you can give Sachin one kiss per day.. No more than that..

How can a restrict a little one more than this.. J

Chapter 6: Swimming

Since we have a swimming pool (including kid’s pool) in our apartment and my husband know little bit of swimming, we bought a swimming dress, goggles and swimming cap for Amy.
Amy was excited ..:)
The next weekend we took her to swimming pool. While going to swimming pool, she was telling everyone passing by that she is going for swimming. She was sooo excited…After changing her dress and taking a shower, my husband took her to kids pool and I was watching. But once he made her stand in the water.. she became afraid and started crying.. L.
So I asked my husband not to keep her in water and both came off from swimming pool.I hugged her and asked her what happened …
For that she replied.. “The water is so cold. Please ask security uncle to pour some hot water”
Me: “:D..Wooww you need hot water in swimming pool also..”
Amy: “Yes mom..”
That was her first experience in swimming.
We didn’t stop by this first attempt. During second time,I asked my husband to let her get into water by herself so she won’t feel that cold. But my husband didn’t agree and took her to the middle of the kids pool and just made her to stand in water..
So again the same crying.. :)
And this is the third attempt.
This time I told my husband that I will take care of her in kid’s pool and suggested him that he can have swimming in other big pool. So he agreed..
What I did is just asked her to step down the first step of the kids pool, which she did reluctantly. But after few minutes she started enjoying standing in water. Then I asked her to step down to second step, now she did is happily.. Then I asked her to sit on the second step so that water will be there still her chest. Now she is sitting on the water and started playing. All the time she is holding my hand. She is excited. Now I tried an attempt to make her walk in water by holding her hand and asked her to walk through water…Which she did.. All the time I have to bend down and walk along the bank of the pool to hold her while she walk through water.
She is happy.. By the time my husband came and took her to the middle of the pool,by holding her hand.. She was happy walking in the water..
Now she is unwilling to get off from the pool.. She wants to play more.. J
Somehow we managed to take her home.

At night, on our usual video call to my mom, Amy told her.. : “Annammache, we went for swimming today. And I did some exercise in Water “.. J

Chapter 5 : Pappadam Kachi

Pappadam Kachi is a long stick made of steel to take pappad (thin crispy wafer served with Indian meals) from oil.
It was a Good Friday. Usually on good Friday we will be on fasting in the morning (except Amy) and we will have kanji and payar (green gram curry) for lunch( a simple food).
This good Friday I and Amy are at our rented home and my husband went to his home.
So I was busy making Kanji and payar for both of us. I thought I will make few pappad also. Since Amy like pappad very much.. (Me too… J).So I kept oil to heat. Took the Pappadam kachi (which I usually keep in out of reach of Amy) and few pappad and kept everything ready.
Mean time my little Angle appeared on kitchen and saw the Pappadam kachi. Within second she took the pappadam kachi and started playing with it. I asked her to return it and told her that she won’t be getting pappad if she didn’t return the pappadam kachi.
She is not listening to whatever I said and busy playing with it near washing machine. I was also busy making Kanji and payar that I didn’t notice what she is doing. After few minutes she came to me and told she had drop pappadam kachi inside washing machine.
I was shocked…What she is small and she can’t open the washing machine lid. Then how did she drop it inside Washing machine. Then I asked her how, she took me to the washing machine and showed me a small hole on the side of the washing machine (meant for holding the draining pipe) and told me that she dropped it through that..
OMG….she dropped the Pappadam kachi inside washing machine. I can take it only by unscrew and opening the washing machine from the back. I got angry like nothing and I started screaming at her and she started crying. I switched off the oil. Turned the washing machine a little bit to have a look on the back side. And I found that I need a star screw driver to open the back. L. And the realty is I don’t have any screw driver at all.
After sometime, once my BP came down, I somehow managed to make few pappad using scissors (don’t embrace, it’s true, you can fry pappad using scissors’ I just tried and succeeded. And this is what is proverb “Necessity is the mother of invention” says.. J)
We both had kanji, payar and pappad.
By evening my husband came and I reported the incident to him. He had a look on the back side and told me that he will buy a star screw driver and open washing machine and take the pappadam kachi. Hmm.. Since I know my husband very well, I have to wait for 3 to 4 days for all theses to happen. That too, only if I keep on asking him…But since Washing machine is an unavoidable gadget and I am using it on a daily basis I can’t wait for 3 to 4 days.
So I tried, putting some clothes inside and tried to start washing machine and I end up in getting some sounds from inside the machine. So I just stopped the machine.
Again was thinking what shall be done.
And now I found myself sitting on the back side on washing machine, holding my scissors and trying to unscrew …This time also, my little scissor helped me. I opened the back side, took the pappadam kachi out. Closed the back again. And kept everything in place. I switched my machine on and it started functioning normally. I am relaxed.. J

I kept the Pappadam kachi back to its place.. On the top of my fridgeJ.
