It all started with a message from Dance Mam. Guinness world
record attempt of 10,000 + dancers performing Bharatanatyam together. It was a
government program. She told us we just need to dance as others and we will be
getting certificates. Dance teacher asked us to enroll.
6 kids from Prince highlands and myself enrolled for the
event. We got only one weeks’ time and we were not able to learn the dance
properly. However, Dance Mam said nothing to worry. We can dance by seeing
others.
Finally, the day has arrived and Amy and I got ready. We (Myself,
Amy and Achayan) went along with Aadhya, Abarna and Uday in their Car. We
reached the destination by 3.30. Harshini and Shourya join us there. Since it
is a 10000+ participant event, it’s so crowded with participants and their
parents teachers etc. we didn’t meet Mam, Laksha and Veenu. We waited for long time at the venue and finally
by 4.30, they let the participants inside the venue ground. Again, it took
another 2 hours to start the program. By that time all the participants are
tired and organizer’s didn’t provide even water.
Aadya started telling, she wants to go to rest room. Since it’s
a crowd I can’t find her parents. Luckily I met Dance Mam and I send Aadya with
her . Since it is a small kid and she is not convenient with crowd. She didn’t go.
By 6.30, when the event started, aadya started crying. The organisers announce
a practice before the actual dance performance. After practice, aadya started
crying more, saying she is having
stomach ache. I got tensed. I don’t know what to do.. I can’t take her alone
and go. Other kids wil be alone. Also, I don’t know where I can find her
parents. I took all then 4 kids and moved out of the stage while they started actual
performance.
Somehow I managed to find Harshini’s dad and he took us to
the parents. Then we moved out of the venue, took Aadya to rest room and gave
kids water and snacks. Since we had moved out first, we luckily escaped from
the traffic jam.
All went well and the performance got the Guinness world
record even though we didn’t dance in the final performance
For all the effort by small kids, hope we will receive
certificate.
