This incident begins from Trivandrum, Kerala…From my Mom.
Before I start..let me give a small intro…I am from
Kottayam, Kerala. Born and brought up as a proud Kottayamkari….That is a pride
each Kottayam girls have. And there is always a talk about Kottayam girls that
they are girls with Pride, self-esteem and confidence.. Which we like to hear
and enjoy it.. J
Wow while writing these lines itself, Goosebumps are
coming.. J
But since my Bother
joined an MNC @ Trivandrum, my mom and brother shifted to Trivandrum.. And are
in Trivandrum now. My mom is retired govt servant and her hobbies are reading
books and listening to radio (FM as well as AM). J.But
when she switched to a Smart phone. She got a few new hobby too….and they are
Facebook, WhatsApp and online shopping.. J
Wow. What a change a smart phone can bring. .Right????
The advantage of online shopping goes to Amy…Her Grand mom’s
online shopping are mostly for Amy..Toys,toys toys..and toys… Sometime Mom will
give shipping address as our Chennai address and it will get delivered to us or
she will give her Trivandrum address and get it there…And by now, a doctor set,
teddy bear bag, Slate, Crayons, baby IPad etc. are waiting for Amy @ Trivandrum….So
we are planning to go to Trivandrum next month.. J
Hmm..Two weeks back while my mom was browsing some online
shopping site, she came across an umbrella. A small colorful one…She ordered it
and gave shipping address as her address. And she received the same on last
week. But she opened the parcel to find it as broken.. L Its handle was broken…
Even though it was broken, she sticked it with a tape and showed
it to Amy on our usual WhatsApp Video call. By seeing the umbrella, Amy got
excited.
She Said:”Ammachi..Keep it there..i will come and get it..” J
Since it was broken, Mom tried for a replacement and the
company told they don’t have a replacement, they will only accept return and
they will reimburse the money. Mom told ok.
And she ordered another same umbrella and gave shipping
address as our Chennai address. And we received the same on last Wednesday..
Amy was most excited on seeing the umbrella. Thus she received her very first
umbrella.. J
She started playing with umbrella and she don’t want to
close it and keep it aside.
Next day morning, once she got ready to school, she came to
me and asked me: “Amma, Shall I take my umbrella to school? I want to show my
umbrella to amuda (this is how she pronounce Amritha).”
Thinking about the crying session, if I disagree.. I said
OK.. She became happy and took the umbrella, opened it and started walking to
the parking lot..
While entering car, I asked her to close the umbrella,. And
she said: NO.. 😲
She want to sit in front seat with umbrella opened. She
somehow managed to get into the front seat with umbrella and sat on the front
seat with umbrella…
I tried my best to convince her, but she is not ready to
close the umbrella..
Since I failed to convince her, I closed the front door, got
into back seat and asked my husband to lock all the doors and we started our
journey..
After a while she find it difficult to balance herself in a
driving car with umbrella open, she agreed to close it..i closed the umbrella
and gave it to her. After reaching school, she took the umbrella and about to
get down,
I told her: “if you took your umbrella, Sachin (her friend)
will ask for it.so better keep it in car.”
She Agreed.
We have a big umbrella kept on the boot space for any emergency.
So she agreed to keep her umbrella along with that umbrella, and left to
school.
Evening when we pick her up, the first thing she did on
getting into car is looking for her umbrella. And took it and started playing with
that..
Now every day her car journey is with umbrella on hand and
she is waiting for the weekends to come so that she can take the umbrella to
the play area and play with that.. J
